Exhibition - Shadow Catchers

I found this exhibition really interesting; different techniques for recording an environment without a camera. All the artists captured shadows directly onto photographic paper, eliminating the need for a camera.

Susan Derges makes photograms of water, her images reveal 'the hidden forces of nature' capturing the pattern of the sound waves within the water. I found the patterns created fascinating as they were photographs of conditions that almost exist in another world being hard to identify with the human eye.

Pen and Ink site drawing, I was thinking about the ephemeral conditions of the site. An oil spill/ puddle could create patterns that could potentially become a form.
